Spring/Summer fashion trends have often called for patterns, floral print and bold statement colors. One may not associate minimalism to such sunny and bright time of the year, however, minimalist outfits have always been a favorite of mine and I refuse to let them go for an entire season.

Minimalism
1. a movement in sculpture and painting which arose in the 1950s, characterized by the use of simple, massive forms.2. an avant-garde movement in music characterized by the repetition of very short phrases which change gradually, producing a hypnotic effect.

Simple is what defines Minimal. Say no to color, patterns, crazy colors and opt for simple, pastel, or even just black and white. This trend does not necessarily have to mean boring. I have always appointed a high degree of sophistication and class to those dressed in a minimalist manner. It is never boring in my dictionary.

One thing which certainly placed minimalism in fashion into a superior rank in my opinion is the fact that it has a monet effect. This is because you may be tricked into considering minimalist fashion or art in general very simple and easy to predict, while in fact it is quite intriguing and difficult to understand and put together if one looks closely. The slight air of mystery a person dressed in a minimalist fashion is what gets to the heart of me.

If you are willing to go minimal with your outfits, here are three tips that step up your outfit from boring to high-fashion minimalism in simple, basic and small steps

Minimalism often uses very simple fabrics such as denim, leather, and basic shirting materials which can easily make your outfit appear effortless in a negative way! paying attention to the cut of the shirt you are wearing and its fit, as well as shape of accessories you add to your outfit will be the weighing factor between boring and stylish.

Owning a black dress is a necessity which I no longer have to write about, because I talked multiple times about why every woman should own the LBD!

Now that there are countless shapes, lengths and types of the little black dress, one can never go wrong with going minimal with it! Sometimes a medium length black dress may appear almost like a gown which makes a minimalist look very classy and sophisticated (nowhere close to being boring!)

It's not just the little black dress that is now available in countless forms and shapes, but the classic white T-shirt and shirt are also made availble in several forms by many fashion brands, whether high-end or normal. Finding a uniquely shaped white T or shirt is certainly something to consider if you want to go stylishly minimal ;)

Are you team Minimalism? I certainly am.
