Travelling is probably the thing that is responsible for over 80% of what I have learnt in my whole life. I have been raised in a family of wander lusts; we all have a love for travelling and exploring new places that we could all learn from. I took this to a whole new level and dedicated all my free time solely for travelling, meeting beautiful souls and learning from them.
I have made a collection of well known quotes that inspired me personally, and believe that they have the power to inspire many of you into packing your suitcase and getting on the road!
“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.”
- Augustine of Hippo -
This statement made me realize the importance of travelling, and I couldn't agree more with it! I honestly believe that I owe everything I have in my mind for all the travel trips that I have made in the past few years. It became food to my soul and mind, and meeting amazingly talented people along the way left a remarkable mark within me that will never fade away. Through travel, I saw the world from a completely new lens.
“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”
- Lao Tzu -
This has always inspired me to get up and go! no more time for being lazy, as much as I'd love to stay home in my bed all day ... there's not much to learn from doing that.
“Wherever you go becomes a part of you somehow.”
- Anita Desai -
This again reinforces what I stated earlier, everywhere I go I always tend to take something as new knowledge. I have been living abroad in the Netherlands for the last two years, and the country has certainly became part of me and will remain that way for a very long time (if not forever).
“A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving.”
- Lao Tzu -
I am a strong believer that the best days and memories made are those that were not planned.
“I have found out that there ain't no surer way to find out whether you like people or hate them than to travel with them.”
- Mark Twain -
I have made very strong friendships through travel, it really does reveal so much about a person. It is one of my favorite ways of bonding with my friends and people I know.
“Travel makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.”
- Gustave Flaubert -
This could not be truer. I personally grew tremendous compassion and I now feel like I love much harder because of traveling. I realized that what I am used to is extremely small compared to the rest of the world.
And finally my personal favorite:
“To travel is to live.”
- Hans Christian Andersen -
