I have always been very content on stressing the importance of skin exfoliation, and today I will reveal the reason why I always urge my readers and friends to exfoliate their skin! additionally, I will be sharing with you a special (and very easy) DIY recipe for exfoliating your skin at home!

Firstly, the process of exfoliation of the skin naturally occurs in the human body (Desquamation) which fundamentally works with the aim of shedding of dry, old, hardened skin cells so new cells can come to the surface. However, this process is limited for those with oily skin or due to oils forming on the surface of the skin, meaning we should manually exfoliate to prevent the dead old cells from remaining on the surface of the skin for too long.

Exfoliation should be done once a week if you're using a harsh exfoliator, twice a week is also good. For gentle exfoliators it is possible to even do it three times a week. Today, I am going to share with you a natural DIY exfoliator that you can use three times a week (or less).

The ingredients that you need:
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • Optional (cinnamon)

You have to stir all the ingredients together to form a paste texture, and then apply it to your face using clean washed hands. Your face is then to be divided into three parts (left, right and forehead area) where you apply this paste with circular motion for approximately one minute on each side. Rinse off using warm water.

Try this 1 - 3 times a week and notice a difference!

Of course this exfoliation process works best when you're also consistent with other skin care routines such as regular cleansing and moisturizing.
