Beauty foods have always been an interest of mine, mainly because my mother raised me in such way that made me fully convinced that 'you are what you eat'. Good food will result in good skin. Full stop.
There are several beauty foods that really do make you look pretty! and I have previously written about 9 of my all time favorite beauty foods - click here to check that out! One main type of nuts managed to gain my full focus because of all the good stuff it does for your health and physical appearance.
Today's post will be dedicated to the health and beauty benefits of the fabulous beauty food: Walnuts!
I am nuts for walnuts :D I love to snack on walnuts all the time, without feeling so guilty. Nuts are healthy fats that are great for dieting, for your health and for your skin and hair! Here's why I love walnuts for my beauty:
- Walnuts are rich in B-vitamins that are known to be great for stress relief, and therefore affect your skin in such way that it does not look 'stressed'. This makes your skin look much younger!
- Your hair also benefits from the components of these nuts! Walnuts are a great source of potassium, Omega 3, Omega 6, and Omega 9 fatty acids which are all known to be the perfect foods for hair follicles, thus eating walnuts will make your hair much stronger and healthier looking. Eating walnuts regularly is also thought to prevent balding with age.
- Walnut's ability to step up your mood will make your skin wrinkle free :D make sure you eat enough of these nuts every day, as they are reasonable source for your daily requirement of omega-3
And these are only few of the benefits of walnuts!!
What's great about such nuts is that they can be used and applied directly to hair/skin to give you a beauty boost! warm walnut oil is said to be very helpful for abolishing under-eye dark circles and skin aging problems. It is also possible to apply warm walnut oil directly on your hair, massaging your scalp - which strengthens it and will therefore result in stronger hair!
I have personally been facing a few skin problems recently, and I am considering to add more walnuts into my daily diet to increase the wellness of my skin condition.
